Finally! Pilipinas Nasungkit ang Tagumpay ng Nakakuha ng ‘Pwesto’ sa UN Human Rights Council

“We won!” Yan ang naging mensahe ng Department of Foreign Affairs o DFA sa media makaraang makakuha ng pwesto ang Pilipinas sa United Nations Human Rights Council.

Sa kabila ng mga patutsada at mga pagkilos ng mga maka-kaliwa laban sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, nananatiling namamayagpag ang presidente sa kanyang mga adhikain. Matatandaan na ang mga nasa partido Liberal ay umabot na sa United Nations at International Criminal Court upang tahasang ipahayag ang mga akusasyon nito sa pangulo ukol sa EJK, mga paglabag sa karapatang pantao, korapsyon at iba pa.


Nakasungkit ng Pwesto ang Pilipinas sa United Nations Human Rights Council sa ginanap na botohan sa New York.

Sa naging mensahe ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa media, nakakuha ang Pilipinas ng 165 votes, mula sa 193-member UN General Assembly.

Nabatid kasi na ang bawat bansa ay kailangan ng hindi bababa sa 97 votes upang mahalal sa naturang council.

Dahil dito, ang Pilipinas ay magsisilbi sa ika-limang termino nito sa UN Human Rights Council o mula 2018 hanggang 2021.
